Looking at a 1970 Big Block Convertible. Would appreciate if someone could post a picture(s) of a factory correct stamp pad please. Thank you very much for the assistance.

Re: 1970 ls-5
Good choice with a 70. Go to the 70 Corvette registry at this address:http://www.1970corvetteregistry.org/ They have stamp pad photos in the photographic library as well as a wealth of other info. Big blocks are notorious for being counterfeit. Some of the counterfeits are real good the only way to detect is the broach marks made at the factory which are very hard to duplicate. If you are spending big bucks for the car I suggest you get an expert. Nothing worse than paying for something but not getting the real thing. You usually don't find out until you go to sell it and someone points it out to you. Good Luck.- Top

Tony:
Thanks the website is helpful. I have a difference of opinion brewing. The car has top flighted in the past. I had a local classic car retailer look at it and he thought that it looked restamped. Basically the "C" in CZU looks very slightly smaller than the other fonts. I emailed a high resolution pic today to a well known Corvette expert and he thought, from the photo, that it looks typical and would bet it accurate. The pics on the Registry show CZU very uniform. I am a little apprehensive of course. Any reference to Houston area NCRS expert would be helpful as actual inspection beats photos. Thanks again for your help.
