I will be dropping the body back onto my 66 roadster shortly, but I uncertain of the shims and if they were correct. When I took the body off the car I documented and took pictures of everything. I know how many shims were at each location when the body was removed, so I would be able to put the same amount back.
The reason I am concerned about the shims is because the car had a body off something sometime in it’s life. Everything on the frame or that was bolted to it was painted. There were other things that have made me uncomfortable in the quality of the previous work. So, is there a way to determine the proper shims before I lower the body, or will there be some indication of incorrect shims once the body is on?
