If you are staying at the Best Western for the Convention and you made your reservations last year..suggest you call ahead to check. I did and found that somebody "Cancelled" the reservation several weeks ago. Well I have my original reservation confirmation number and got it back. Is this some type of new scam? Suggest for those who made them a while back just to check to make double sure....

Convention Registrations supposed to be made
after you register for the Convention. That's to insure NCRS gets credit against the guaranteed room night commitments by Convention attendees. Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter

Re: Convention Registrations supposed to be made
You're not?...Nah, you couldn't be!...Suggesting that NCRS convention administrators cancel members' room reservations if the reservations weren't made AFTER registering for the convention??!!
I hope not; that could be the perfect ####-storm brewing, and probably illegal too. (I have often wanted to get my hands on that guy that cancels my room reservations after my card has been charged for one nights stay...seems like it happens a lot. )
You would think that the discounted room rate would be enough for NCRS to get their credit against the guarantees...surely these hotels wouldn't give the customer the reduced rate without properly crediting the NCRS commitnent?!- Top

Re: Best Western, Suggest you check your Reservati
We have enough convention issues to deal with, now we are receiving phone calls regarding this message. Here is my response........................
Advising someone to check on their hotel reservations is fine, but comments like "Is this some kind of scam" has no place here.
At no time has any National Board member or New England Chapter member instructed any of the five hotels to cancel any reservation for this event, no matter when it was made.
It is up to each individual to confirm his or her hotel reservations, again no matter when it was made.
New England Chapter along with its many volunteers have work very hard to make this years convention a pleasant, enjoyable and affordable event for all.

Re: Best Western, Suggest you check your Reservati
To all on the board and especially to NE NCRS...
My Post NEVER mentioned the NE NCRS had ANYTHING to do with a scam or anything like this. I simply called to verify my reservation and was told the somebody cancelled it, and they did not have it. I certainly did not cancel, it could have been as simple as a clerical mistake the hotel made. I just thought it was a good idea for people to check their reservations to make sure all is fine. In the end the hotel reinstated my reservation as I had the original confirmation number from over a year ago.
So I would like to make it clear, the NE Chapter is working their tails off to make this the event of events for NCRS and Dick and his folks have NOTHING to do with what a hotel does. PLEASE understand my position on this...
Thanks you...
Dick and company...keep up the good work, my wife and I are looking foward to our visit up North...
