    Distributor cap for mid year

I recently purchased a "no R " Delco distributor cap for my small block mid-year after losing originality points at the chapter judging event. Is there a simple effective way to check the cap for function (continuity ?) other that installing on the engine to see how it runs. The cap looks good - can't see any cracks and the contacts all look good.

    Thanks in advance.

Clean any corrosion off the aluminum contacts inside and put it on the car, it will be fine...Make sure you blow the dust from the aluminum oxide out of the inside of the cap after cleaning.

In case you have not tried it, a tiny, brass wire wheel on a Dremel tool will clean the contacts perfectly.
