Re: '64 Water Pump,Hoses,Fittings,Clamps & Headbol
OK, the water pump was on the engine when the engine was painted. The rubber hose between the manifold and the water pump was in place and so were the associated clamps. There was an attempt to mask the intake manifold and the closest part of the bypass hose during the engine painting process, but pretty much everything on the pump not right next to the manifold would see orange paint, including the attachment bolts. The alt brace ws installed in St louis, so the bolt was removed to attach the brace and reinstalled, as such there may be some paint missing from that bolt. Bypass hose near the intake and the associated clamp may have some silver paint from paint applied on the manifold to cover the thermostat housing and the bypass outlet.
Re: '64 Water Pump,Hoses,Fittings,Clamps & Headbol
Greg, THe bypass hose, clamp and most of the 90 degree fitting on the pump are really covered in orange. Finding the original clamps though is probably impossible today for your 64. Finding the original type bypass hose is tough too. Originals have an alligator skin appearance. Clupper's advise was dead nuts. Now maybe he will give me a few extra points on the little white car next time. Yea.
Idler pully stud painted. Sorry-I don't know.
If you search the archives Michael Hanson had some wonderful pics of the bypass hose and clamps-say about a year ago. Bascially though if you can't find it just spray the crap out of it and you got it made. I used to hate overspray on cars. But now I like it. John
