It's baaack ...'65 L78 22301

My old post started 3 March 2006, when I noticed the same
VIN on a boneyard front clip on eBay in 2003, being sold with with MSO (proving 396) and Florida title.
It popped up 3 years later as a totally restored car.

In Il. the Sec.of State would be very interested in that car and the paper trail. We are even required to have brand new gm frames stamped by the Sec. of State when we use them.. Used frames require lots of paper work and are restamped by the state. If I switched vins or installed a doner car around my birdcage id be in jail . If I built a car around the birdcage part by part that would be ok but in Il if I didnt have the orig. title it would be issued a state tag ,vin and title .Great looking car but I would be afraid someone would show up with a title & tag and want his car back . When I bought my 54 it was titled by the engine # . the orig. engine was long gone .I had the title changed to the vin #of my car. that took just short of an act of god....Bill

Yes, ever state is a little different. In some states this car would have a salvage title.
