'70 rear lens

Hello All,

The current judging manual states that the rear outboard original lens have the markings on the outer circle between the two silver rings, while the later replacements have the lens marking on the inner circle.

My question concerns the back-up lens as the manual (to me) is not that clear where the markings are. I would assume they are in the same place, but would like to know for sure.

Are the markings on the back-up lens the same as the outter lens or were they marked different?

Hi Kurt. I believe that both original and repo 70 inner tail lenses have characters in the inner circle, and around the edge of the clear center.

I also could not find a definitive answer to this some time back, but the manual does say that original inner lenses have somewhat sloppy glue placement around the clear center. I then found what I believe to be originals with the carelessly applied glue, and they had the characters just where the repos did. And I've personally never seen a 70 inner lens that was any different.
