    C3 A/C Compressor Label Preservation

I'm curious what others have done to preserve their compressor label when they are getting it rebuilt. I'm reluctant to send it off and not sure how best to proceed...thanks. Thought about buying a "slave" compressor, have it rebuilt than exchange cases but this may not be practical.

Using a hair dryer and a razor blade, you CAN carefully peel off the foil label and re-affix it later...

Re: C3 A/C Compressor Label Preservation

Tom I just sent my compressor off to be rebuilt. I first talked to the person at the company in the rebuild department, and explained my concern for protecting the label and the paint on the housing. I put a note with the compressor with my concern's again. Then I wraped the outside of the housing with two layers of thin cardboard and packing tape.
