    66 A/C vacuum hoses Pt 2

    Hi,

I think I was a bit vague in my previous post about this and I was having problems with my pics so I am going to try and be a bit more clear. My car is a July '66 327/300hp.

My questions are related to the C60 section of the AIM E6 page F292. It shows the vacuum hose to the STV coming off of the bottom of the TEE and the Manifold vacuum line coming off of the Passenger side of the Tee. It appears that this hose loops around or over but I can't make out exactly how.

All the hoses appear to be secured together with the white stripe water shut off hose by four T straps. What I cant find is if these are then all strapped to the Engine wire harness. I have not been able to find any pictures of cars with this correctly routed and I am still unsure.

Sorry for any confusion and thanks again to all for your help.

    Ian,

The 1/4" dia line from the manifold vacuum goes up near the firewall and feeds a T at 9 o'clock. The 3 o'clock side of the T goes thru the 4 clips on firewall thru the 2 hole firewall grommet to the vacuum switch on heater box. The output side of the switch comes back thru the 2 hole firewall grommet thru the 4 clips then feeds the heater shut off valve.

The 6 o'clock side of the T runs down to the bottom of the STV valve and feeds the absolute pressure regulator.

    Hope this helps

    Randy

      Hi Randy,

Thanks for the response and help. I am really trying to confirm if these hoses as a group are strapped to the engine wire harness as well near the Tee. I have photos of my car prior to restoration that show they were but some hoses were changed so I am not sure. It seems that they would have to be secured somehow and not just hanging. It seems that the heater shut off hose might be the one not strapped to the engine harness.

        Ian,

Can't help you with the NCRS issues as I don't have my car judged. Keeping the AC functional is a big enough hassle let alone to NCRS standards
