    1970 Corvette Bronze question(s)

I've got the Vette ready for paint, and have purchased the Laquer: Ditz. 2182.
The mixed paint looks just like the color chips I have seen, but the color on the car seems to have more red/orange in it. The Vette has never been repainted, and I left a few areas unstriped (rear deck latch, door tag area)for comparisons.
The mixed painf appears more like a Carmel color than the original paint.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    George

Most of the formula's for the older cars are somewhat off in color and/or shading. The size of the metallic particles is off somewhat in most of the new formula's. The mixing colors that were used in 1970 are pretty much nonexistant. I would have you painter or paint jobber scan the original color and mix you paint according to the scan. You may still have to tint this paint somewhat, but you will be closer

      Thanks Dick,
I'm going to send my deck latch and the paint to the paint blenders and let them do the best they can.

        George,
Please keep us posted on your progress. I've got a Bronze 70 as well that will need paint in the near (hopefully) future.

          Re: 1970 Corvette Bronze question(s)

Loren from the Vetteheads Forum has informed me that there was a paint code change in April of 1970. The new code for the 993 is/was Ditzer 2264 Corvette bronze Poly.
I'm waiting to hear from my supplier and will inform.
Bty, my Vette is 17,00*, so it is very late production.

Mine is an early June, #10918.
I had that number (2264) also for PPG.
I collected up the following paint numbers probably off of this board.
            I can't vouch for them:
            Valspar B1567
            Dupont 5128
            RM 2376
            Dietzen 2264
I don't know if any of these are still available or not either.
