    Has anyone ever....

been able to replace a lower clean air tube without pulling the exhaust manifold? I have an early 62 with a 250hp engine. If not, is there anything I should replace when I reassemble (new exhaust donut, etc.) Thanks in advance! Jon

    Re: Has anyone ever....

Jon, That might be a dangerous job to do. What would happen if you didn't get all of the rusted tube out? If you were lucky the crap might just blow out the tail pipe. But...... I would to it the correct way as you started to say. Take it off. Buy a nice SS tube, have it pressed in, buy all new gaskets and the little donut and you got that job done correctly. A 250 HP engine is refreshing today. Nice dependable little engine. John

      Thanks John..you're right!

I guess I knew better. It was suggested to me as a short cut and I thought I would throw it out there to see if I was making extra work. Thanks again! Jon
