    What a pain WCFB

I am helping a friend with a single WCFB carburetor but we are not solving the problem. His primary venturi has fuel dripping into them. We have cleaned out the carburetor castings and put a new rebuild kit into the carburetor but it has not helped. Maybe I missed something but I believe I set everything buy the book.

Also, I can not adjust the idle mixture screws for a change in operation of the motor due to the amount of fuel dripping into the carburetor.

Any thought buy those of you who worked on this problem? We would like to have some assistance before he goes and buys a new carburetor.

    Thanks

set the float level 1/16" to 1/8" lower than the spec sheet. also when you have the top off check for leak thru in the needle/seat areas by pressurizing in thru the fuel line fitting with about 6/7 PSI of air pressure and squirt all around with soap solution and look for bubbles. have the top upside down so the weight of the floats is holding the needle/seat closed

      A particular malady...

when the factory original fuel pump has been replaced with a generic that supplies greater pressure than the original.... Some who professionally restore WFCB carb's warn of this with a note packed with the finished carb...the fuel bowl's shut-off needle simply won't seat properly with input pressures that are too high!

You could with out taking it apart remove the side screw at the primary section (center bowl) and using a small screwdriver hold the float up while blowing in the Carb inlet to see if the needle and seat is cutting the gas off . When you rebuilt the Carb did you ajust the metering rods correct? and while at it add the small pipe to stop stalling on left turns .
