    '66 L79 H2O pump shaft hub position

Do I need to check the hub on the H2O pump to verify it is in the correct postion on the shaft? I thought I would atleast measure the distance from the pump housing and compare it to the one I took off, which aligned properly with the crank pulley.

    Rob------

If I were you, I would check it. You want to measure the dimension from the face of the flange (hub) to the mating surface with the block. Measuring the dimension from the rear of the flange to the outer end of the waterpump "snout" is NOT an accurate way to check waterpump dimensions.
