I have just received a set of Coker redline radial tires (205/75/15) for my 67 car. I notice the redline on these tires is "raised". This is different from the redline on the bias ply tires on the car now which i would describe as "recessed". The bias plys on the car now are "dot" from 1970`s vintage. Was the redline on the original bias ply tires recessed? raised? or what?? Although i do not intend to use the new Coker redlines for show i had expected the redline would simulate the original redline. Comments wold be appreciated.

Re: Coker redline radials for 67 Corvette
Richard,
Here's a pic of my original non-dot Super Sports tire. The goldline is recessed in the tire, just as original redlines were. The redline radials are not a very close match to originals. If you are looking for originality, then the bias ply tires are your best bet.

Re: Coker redline radials for 67 Corvette
Tires .. Tires .. Tires .... we too are looking for a good reasonably close OEM tire .. but we are going to go to radials .. not sure yet what size .. we currently have the correct tires on the car but they handle really bad ,, we were all sert to go with Coker .. now I am a little concerned .. can you post a picture or send me one ,,, would you recommend Cokers- Top

My response is to put the tires you purchased on a farm trailer and buy some good road tires elsewhere as there have been many problems with those tires. Diamondback would be and is my choice.Founder - Carolinas Chapter NCRS- Top

Re: Coker redline radials for 67 Corvette
I agree with Jimmy. Almost every Coker redline tire used on our 67 for actual 'driving' either cracked the sidewalls or separated the tread. If the car is to be driven I would look for a different brand.- Top

Thank you all for these comments. I have decided that I don`t care for the look of the raised redline and hope Coker will accept a return. I believe I will prefer a good driving radial ...just blackwall.
