C3 steering

Just completed my suspension rebuild.{front and rear with the addition of 1 1/8" front sway bar, Bilstien shocks} The aligment settings are as follows
LF -1.0 Camber 3.3 Caster
RF -1.0 Camber 3.7 Caster
Rear -1.5 Camber
Toe 1/8 front and rear
I'm not sure how the car should steer, it takes me five miles to get use to the steering. From the daily driver, I feel like I'm always correcting the car when driving straight. It feels like it corners well. How much play should the steering wheel have. Mine has a 1/2" left or right from center. Looking to get the most out of the car with my limited knowledge. I've found that my a-arms are almost touching the inner fender well, and that 255/60 tires are to wide for the front. Any C3 owners in Northern Calif like to drive my car.

Power steering? With the caster specs, you mean the top of the spindle is tipped rearward relative to the bottom, right?

With that much caster there should be a pretty strong desire for the wheels to self center, in fact, it may be too much for a manual steering car (the opposite of wanting to wander).

My car with polyurethane bushings tends to wander a little more than the stock bushing car, but it's not that bad.

Is your power steering centered? You disconnect the power ram from the drag link and pop the 3/4" cap off the end of the steering valve. With the engine running and at center steering, you adjust the steering valve until there is no motion at all of the steering ram - see the service manual for details. Without this, the car will always want to wander to the SAME side.
