    1964 Frame and Numbers ?

    Hi all,

While I have the body slightly off the frame for body cushion replacements I figured since I cleaned and repainted the frame I should reapply the frame part numbers. Could someone please tell me the approximate location for the part number as well as what production sequence number would have been used for a July,64 car? Anjy help along with photo's are always appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Craig Willetts

          Sequence # not on frame

The sequence number typically is on the body to aid production, rear behind gas tank and passanger fire wall facing engine. These I believe ran from 100 to 500 and then started again. for numbers on frame look towards a Quanta Kit, has number stencil, paint, locations, and.

Word of caution, check with a few experts on the font and size of numbers, it appears these may not be quit correct. (I'm not an expert on this stuff)

Re: Sequence # not on frame

            Hey Alan,

The Judging Guide references a sequence number next to the A.O. Smith part number located on the right rear frame rail. Basically the 64 used 10-12 as a sequence # on the frames. I referenced the archieves and a individual had a post which stated he found both the GM # and A.O. Smith # along with a 11 I believe on the rear of his frame rail. I do have my original grease number on my passenger side firewall (288). Lastly is the date marking on my 64. Should it be a stencil or a grease marked #? Thanks as usual.
