Re: C2 heater hose shut off valve OK?

    John,

I will check out the Chassis Service Manual tonight. I far as I understood what was happening when I pulled the knob - it was shutting the vent door to outside air. Not sure exactly how to envision the same vent then also open to recirculate inside air. But I will read the manual first, check my car out second, and hopefully it will become clear.

Separate but definitely related question. My passenger side LEFT foot kickplate at the console is perfectly flat and does not possess the groove for the hand control lever to the passenger side vent. Seems to make sense to me since they moved it to the center dash console. However, I have read sources that state the groove should be there, just not cut for the lever and pull. Do you know which is correct, and if a flat panel isn't correct, where the heck did they get it. It sure LOOKS like it's always been there. Thanks.

      Jack,

I've never seen two doors, unless the singel vent has a "double swung" door somehow. I will read the service manual as John suggested and get back to you.

        Re: C2 AC max cooling

        Randy -

OOPS! Sorry, I typoed it backwards - with the Air-Pull-Fan knob pulled all the way out, the system operates on OUTSIDE air (kickpad valve closed); with that knob pushed all the way in, the system operates on INSIDE air (kickpad valve open). Owner's manual is correct.

Sure wish we could edit posts.

          Kirk -

C3's had two separate doors as Jack noted; C2's had only one to select incoming air source for the system.

Corrected my post in a new post above under Randy's - owner's manual description is correct.
