1953-54 Engine Block Casting Number

A friend asked me if the engine he has is a 53-54 Corvette engine.The casting number is LAQ428169.If not a Corvette, does anyone know what type of vehicle it may have been in.Thanks in advance for any info.

Not Corvette, but I don't know what it fits. Last 3 of Vette are: for the 54 is 911 & 53 is 481 or 911. The 911 also was installed in pick-up, so the pad stamp has to be checked.

That's the pad stamp #. 53 Corvette prefixes begin with LAY.

Look for the block casting number above the fuel pump. Look for the block casting date above the starter.
