    68 Tri Power Setup

I have 68 427/400 with automatic, VIN 194679S403529. Decoding VIN indicated that build date is Nov 2, 1967. The current carburetors are service dated and was looking at a set with codes below and was wondering if they would work?

Since they did not make many 427/400 and probably even less were automatics plus being somewhat early car, I'm hoping they will.

Center List 4056, Date Code 761, June 1st week, 1967
Front List 3659, Date Code 782, August 2nd week, 1967
Front List 3659, Date Code 792, Sept 2nd week, 1967

    Thomas-----

Your car was built fairly early during November, 1967. Therefore, any of the carb dates you mentioned falls within the NCRS "6 month rule". The carb list numbers you mentioned are also the correct ones for your application.

In addition to list number, the center carb should have the GM part number 3902516 stamped on it and the end carbs should have the GM part number 3902353.
