I would like to find out, if anyone has any new or good used 1st Design Caliper pistons, for the front and rear calipers of my 66 corvette big block. I had my calipers sleeved, and my pistons are good with a little oxidation on them. I would just like to find some extra ones. Thank You Chuck Isaac

Re: C2 1st Design Caliper pistons 1966 Big Block
Chuck------
Vette Brakes of Florida carries them in their catalog. However, I'm told that when you try to order them, they don't have them. It's worth a call, though. Lonestar Caliper may also have them. If neither of these sources pan out, then I'd say you'll have trouble finding them.
By the way, if a piston has the slightest amount of wear on the sealing ring (the largest OD area of the piston), the piston is not good for further use. Wear is detected by the wearing through of ANY of the gold anodize on ANY part of the sealing ring. I have NEVER seen a piston removed from a caliper that was good for continued use.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C2 1st Design Caliper pistons 1966 Big Block
Chuck,
Joe is correct with his answer to your question regarding 1st series pistons. I just went through this process last week to obtain new pistons for my '65 brake calipers.
Contact Ken at Lonestar Caliper or Frank at Vette Brake Products. Both are great to do business with and you'll get what you're looking for.

Joe. I talked with Lonestar last week about rebuilding the brake calipers for my 1965 L78 car. They have the correct pistons.
