Fellas (and ladies)- Ive got an orginal 63 FI. The car was originally Sebring Silver with Tan/Saddle leather interior. The car was repainted years ago to Riverside Red. I have a small crack in the right front clip where the hood and fender meet starting at the 90 degree turn and running up the fender wall along where the hood and body meet. I also have bubbles on my hood where the sun reflected off the Air Cleaner. (It has std 4B Carb on it now, I'm buying the FI unit to put on it as well--Big expense also!). As it turns out, I've been quoted 2K to fix the crack and have the hood repainted red.
My question is....Do I put an additonal $6,000+ and spend $8,000+ and have it painted the original color, Sebring Silver? Has anyone ever seen a 1963 FI Sebring Silver with Tan Leather interior before? This could be one of a kind?
I bought the car in the low 20s. With the injection unit, correct air cleaner and some other things I will have 33-35K in a RED car. For another $8,000 I've got an 100% original Sebring Silver. Will it be worth +40K?
I'm planning on keeping the car to pass onto my kids. Maybe someday, I'll show it. Also, if anyone knows a Bill Rice in Northern Ohio, please let me know.
