    Can anyone help me with these numbers, block 3703524,date code B138, pad 0037234 T55G thanks

    According to Mortec 1955 265 cid with no oil filter.

      As Dick mentioned, it's definitely a 1955 block. Therefore, I would suspect that the date code which you report as "B138" is actually B135". Casting code digits can be very hard to decipher. Of course, it could be a SERVICE block cast in 1958, but I doubt that this block was still being cast that late. It's possible, though.

      The pad stamping must be something that was added later by a rebuilder or others. Chevrolet was not stamping pads in vehicles with VIN derivatives in 1955.

      The block could be quite valuable to someone restoring a 1955 Corvette or passenger car, especially if the date code actually is "B135".
