65 (&66) Dash Panel Color -- 426 / 427 Silver Int.

Always thought that silver interiors had black dash panel and pads. But the '65 TIM&JG (5th ed.) has a table at the beginning of the interior section that shows silver dash with gray carpets. This is contradicted a few pages later under "Dash Panel" where noted that "426 or 427 (leather) interiors ....have black dash panels and pads..." Sameis also mentioned in the Corvette Specifications Guide (pocketbook): Instrument panel black, carpet gray for silver interiors.

So does the TIM&JG table contain a known typo ? Talked to someone the other day who has seen silver dash panel and pads.

How about the '66 TIM&JG -- does it repeat the same table ?

The '66 JG book lists silver as the dash color for trim codes 426 and 427 (silver exterior with gray carpet and vinyl, leather seats, respectively).
