I despirately need the top front fender braces (left and right) which bolts under the fender to the studs that stick down from the top fender stainless. I understand thease were only used on 58's. I can not find them in any of the catalogs. Is there anyone that repoduces them or are they around as left over NOS stock. Please, can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain them, I would be gratefull of any help, thank you.

Bill, I know just enough to be dangerous...
...used on 58's up to a certain point. Don't know the VIN breakpoint. I thought C Central used to have them listed in their catalog, but have not checked in a long time. Frankly, wish the General had used them through the '62 model year.- Top

Problem compounded
Bill, your search is actually going to get harder. I know of a # of high quality fiberglass surgeons that use these on ALL 58-62'S to "stabilize" the fender for over-the-top body results. Good idea for them - for those who actually want it back "the way it was", maybe not.
I am reminded of Monterey 2002, when a well-meaning individual approached me to tell me how I could "polish" the inside edges of the cutaway for the gas tank fill opening; my response was "Did it ever occur to you that the reason it is the way you see it is because THAT WAS THE WAY IT WAS IN 1960?- Top

Re: 58 top fender braces, NONE AVALIABLE????
Vette Products of MI was the company that used to reproduce them. They discontinued production quite a few years ago and have been out of stock at least 5? 10? years. Lotsa luck BillDick Whittington- Top

Re: Bill, I know just enough to be dangerous...
Nick- name was Mechanic's brace ! Not all 58's had them. Like the exshaust steel tubes in the trunk area some did some dint. Rear bumper strap supports indentations in the body some did some dint or the exshaust covers some glass some metal , And so on. All = early or late- Top

Re: 58 top fender braces, NONE AVALIABLE????
I thought I could just bend some, but the fender has a curve and so does the braces. I think every 58 to 62 should have used them, but I guess the general knows best and they probally saved 2 bucks a car by not using them.- Top

Re: 58 top fender braces, NONE AVALIABLE????
I got a fiberglass pair from Semerscheims for my 59. I looked for a steel set for ages, before I gave up and put a set of fiberglass ones on. They really help keep the fenders from cracking when leaned on. As I develop an overhang on my waistline, they are a necessity!
