I need help. My 65 conv. has a electrical problem I have not been able to fix. With both courtesy light bulbs installed neither will turn off. If I remove the passenger bulb the drivers side light will turn on and off using the switch. Both sockets are just hanging, not attached to metal surface. I would fix this but I have not been able to find out the correct place to remount them. No other electrical problems seem to exist. Any suggestions?

Re: courtesy light/electrical problem
Since the door switch works by completing the ground side of the circuit, this would indicate that the passenger's side wire from the socket to the switch is pinched or the switch is not opening properly. That wire is effectively isolated from the circuit whan you remove the bulb.- Top

Re: courtesy light/electrical problem
Plus, mounting location will be shown in the Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM) for your model year and I'd STRONGLY suggest you begin building a support library for your classic Corvette investment.... Those who serviced these cars are pretty much long gone from the scene, so it's imperative for you to know what goes where, what's rare/hard to find, how to disassemble/re-assemble this and that. If you're willing to fork out about $200 for a starter library, you'll find the mystery factor begins to dissolve and the satisfaction/fun index increases dramatically, even if you don't turn the wrench yourself!!!- Top
