    427 Intake gasket???

What would be the "intake gasket" of choice for the 427 (1967) sq. port heads. My current gasket exposes the heat riser channel. Thanks in advance.

don't know about the gasket, but in case you don't know, one of the likely responders with the correct information has done the same thing to his 69 that you are doing to your 67.

      Re: 427 Intake gasket???

I had to "make" a gasket for my 390/427 intake to get the profile.

The gray gaskets are from NAPA.
The top gray gasket is NOT modified and has an incorrect profile.
The center gray gasket is modified to closely match the original gasket profile as shown in the 1967 Chevrolet Service Manual
The black gasket is new and modified to follow the intake contour...not correct!!!

Original gaskets also had a part number embossed in them on the center tab area.

      Hope this helps!

I remember an earlier thread that discussed the fact that the heat riser opening in the head was covered by the gasket, but not sealed. (or maybe I've got that mixed up). Others may respond with more details.
