I'm interested in doing a restoration on my 82 CE. I was wondering if I do the CE graphics in air brush rather than the original decals would that be considered an acceptable restoration for NCRS judging?

Re:C3 1982 Collector Edition
The reason for the big deduct for the painted grahics is that is not the way the car came from the factory. Don't know if they are still available from GM. Maybe an Ebay items for the the originals.

Re:C3 1982 Collector Edition
They're available in the aftermarket:
Buy them new. NOS ones will be 25 years old and not worth installing on your car.

Re: C3 1982 Collectors Edition
Do not buy the original decals. The material was junk over 10 years ago. They would break or wrinkle everytime you messed with them. I have been installing various types of graphics and decals for over 40 years and have never had the problems that those GM decals gave me. As Doc Hulst said, buy the repro'sDick Whittington- Top

Also before going to far into your project, be sure a take some good photos of the overlap on the orginal decals so you can match them back up with the correct amount of overlap.- Top
