    63 Seat Inspection

I posted recently requesting some help determining if a set of seats had the correct rails for a 63, which seems good so far. I am told buy the seller that these are indeed 63 seats, complete. I have agreed to purchase the seats, after inspection Monday. If anyone has some suggestions about what I should look for when I inspect these, I would greatly appreciate any advice!

Here are pictures of the seats:

Almost forgot, I do have the 63 AIM and Shop Manual. The AIM provides pretty detailed drawings of the rails and frames, Service Manual has nothing.

your pictures do not show the tops of the seat backs which is how i differentiate a 63 from a 64 seat. the 63's are nearly pointed where the front and back of the seat come together at the top whereas the 64's have about a 3" section that lies in a horizontal plane where the front and back are joined. did the seller provide the pics? if so, the tops of the seat backs may have been intentionaly avoided in the picture. mike

Good point Mike! The seller did provide the pics. From the front views, the tops don't look too pointed. Will look for this Monday, thank you!

Re: 63 Seat Inspection - Make Sure ....

Make sure that the seats have all 4 seat adjuster brackets on each seat (8 total). These are unique to '63 seats. They are not reproduced to my knowldege, and next to impossible to find. Very expensive on ebay if they come up. Without them, you can't properly mount the '63 seats to the mounts on the floorboard.

            Hi Jim,

These are 63 seats. At least the bottoms anyway for sure. They have all the adjusters and the correct handles. From what I can see, the backs are 63 also. The vinyl appears to wrap all the way to the back without the flatten band that would be present on a 64 back.
