    68 fan shroud extension

Were the fan shroud extensions only installed on cars with A/C? Would it be on a 427 non-A/C car?

    Mark,

My 327/300 with A/C has the large metal "barrel" fan shroud if that helps narrow it down a bit.

      Mark,

Your 427, with a copper radiator, should have the shroud extention regardless of the AC option. On some very early '68 cars with copper radiators, metal shrouds were used. Thereafter, copper radiators shrouds were unpainted black fiberglass reinforced plastic with the extenstion attached. Hope this helps!

Anthony does your 68 with C60 have its original radiator? If it does is it aluminum and also have the aluminum surge/fill tank?

          Jim,

It is a Harrison radiator, but probably not the original. It has the fill cap on the radiator, with no expansion tank.

It was just recored with a I believe a replacement copper core.

What engine/transmission option is that? My Nov. 67 a/c car has a metal shroud.
Do you have a pic of the idle solenoid set-up?
              Thanks,
              Bryan

Thanks for posting the picture Wayne. Now I know of the differences in the metal shrouds for the 68 327 with/without air and the type of radiators.

Pix of all three versions of idle stop solenoid...

are shown in MF Dobbin's 1968-72 Corvette Fact Book. The three versions are: (1) Qjet equipped, (2) Holley tri-power equipped, and (3) Holley 4-Bbl equipped (L88). Put your support library to work!

                    Jack,
Can you buy the book off this website? If you can, I sure can't find it.

It may not be on the website, but they do carry it in the store. Give them a call or email and I am sure Gary or Eric will take good care of you.
