I've never quite figured out the date coding on Kelsey Hayes wheels. Can someone decode this date code on some Kelsey Hayes wheels?

K10 5 27 DL

I'm in search of some original Kelsey Hayes wheels for my '65 and am not sure if these will do.

If that stamp is by the valve core hole, I'm pretty sure those are over the counter service wheels. But if they are the right configuration, they will judge fine. With the wheelcover on it can't be seen anyway.

Tony -- all I can find is in Colvin's Chev-by-Numbers ('70-75 volume) where "DL" is for 1970 only for Chevrolet "B" wagon (replaces DJ); 15x6 JK with 0.06" offset. If, as Tracy says, the nubers are to both sides of the valve stem, then this rim is KH, Romulus MI, 1970, May 27th. DL does not appear in Colvin's '65-69 book.

This compares with '65-6 stock steel rims 15x5_1/2 JK, with 0.44" offset (that is, the centerline of the rubber is 0.44" inwards from the bolting surface wheel-to-disc hub.

On the topic, has anyone ever seen an undated AG '68 wheel? I have one with the KH logo on it, and there's not a single number on the sucker, it's been stripped to bare metal, and it was up in my Dad's attic since the early '70's,(as early as I can remember, I was born when the wheel was made!) so I'd say it's not an OTC wheel or repro. I want to take the tire off and see what's on the inside of the rim, but I'm afraid to break the bead & destroy a 39 year old tire.

My late January '68 has 2 AG rims with just the AG stamp near the valve stem & no date codes on the outside. I haven't taken the tires off to check the date codes on the inside.

The other 2 AG rims are date stamped 12-20-67 & 12-21-67 respectively.

The stampings are as follows: K-1-7 12 V-Hole AG 20 / K-1-7 12 V-Hole AG 21.

Thanks Wayne. I'm trying to chase down some original Kelsey Hayes steel wheels for my '65. Code breaking these Kelsey Hayes date codes is a little difficult.
