Bellhousing Inspection Cover - Orange ?

Hi,

I have a 65 SB and the bellhousing inspection cover is orange (I don't believe the motor/housing has ever been out of the car....). All aftermarket ones I see (ZIP, etc) have gloss black paint ??

Painted orange with the engine, installed on the BH.

Mark, When you bought one of those inspection covers from GM they were typically painted black with a parts # sticker on them. I guess for many years guys thought that was what they were supposed to be instead of the orange that Bill told you John.

Thanks John and Bill. Mine was orange (beneath 40yrs of grease), so that's what I painted it.
