C2 seat assembly (63)

I have attached the "hockey sticks" to the seat back, but the space between the ends of the sticks is approximately 1.5" wider than the seat bottom at the intended point of attachment. Before I tore them down, the seats were assembled without any spacers, so I'm assuming there is a way to reassemble them without any major modification. Any tips on making the proper alignment?

it's been a while but i believe the replacement hockey sticks are straight and the old ones you took off were bent. I think you have to force the hockey sticks into position. If you go to the Long Island Corvette site they have a blow up of the assembly. You can spot the location of the spacer washers and bolts.
