There seems to be some controvesy in what I have read on Carb #'s for a 1966 300hp-327 with an automatic (no AR-air injection reactor). I just bought this car and it currently has the wrong carb on it (#2818 which is for a 365hp car). The other thing that seems to cloud the issue a little is that it was built in Sept. of 1965. Most books list the Holley #3367, but this is for the MT. The other number I have come across is the #3605, but some books don't list this fitment or list it with AR. I have also seen a 3416 in some books, but I don't see this in the Black book and it also said it was for AR. Any help on identifing the correct carb for me would be appreciated as well as possible sources for one with correct date code. Thank you for your help.

Re: Correct Carb for 1966 300hp Auto
Thanks for the response, but this shows the problem I am having. That 3416 is listing in an old Chilton's book but is not in my Holley book. I tried to look at our show last weekend, but we only had one '66. We had a few '65 powerglides, but the numbers are different (not holley). Again, since this is an early '66 is there a carryover possiblity like I have seen on some other years? Thanks.- Top

Re: Correct Carb for 1966 300hp Auto
John,
Please allow me to weigh in here with what the NCRS Spec Guide says and make the fog a little thicker:
Corvettes in 1965, 300HP used a Carter AFB in two different models; MT used 3721SB, and PG used 3720SB.
Corvettes in 1966, ALL 300HP (except K19) used Holley 4160 (Holley Part Number R3367A).
If your car had a "carry-over" carb, I would expect it to be a Carter.
