How did Chevrolet retain the Idle Solenoid wire that runs on the left aluminum valve cover to the solenoid. I know that the stamped steel cover had tabs with plastic retainers, but what did they do on the aluminum cover?

Side road
Interestingly enough, if you check Noland's book for the numerous shots of what I call the "Factory Photo Shoot" car (the trunk, chassis, interior, etc. pictures in the book were ALL of #2269, a 250HP FI car), the engine shot shows these clips mounted UPSIDE DOWN from AIM illustration.
Now what, judge??- Top

Me thinks that maybe you be in the right Church, but the wrong pew Loren. Me thinks that he was talking about the idle solenoid used on the C-3's such as the LT-1'sDick Whittington- Top

Re: Valve Cover Wire Clips?
There were two spring steel clips that fit over the two of the fins on the valve cover that had a hole in the opposite end to receive the plastic wire holder. Don't know of anyone selling these clips nowadays.

At the National meet I bought a set of these from one of the vendors. Send me a PM and I will look up the guy's name and address.
