In the "for what it is worth department" I was the first person to respond to the owner of the car that you want someone to look at. In my discussions with him he assured me that I was first in line for the car and that he woud give me time to review key pictures once he had time to take them. I offered to send a deposit, but he told me that it wasn't necessary. We agreed that the unwritten rule over on the Corvette Forum was "get in line". I promised to respond to him immediately once I saw the pics that I needed to see and he was cool with that.
I waited for his pictures last night and didn't get anything. I saw a post on the forum that he had a guy coming to look at it last night, and yep you guessed it. I called him this morning and he has taken a deposit on the car and it is to be settled on Sunday at the same price he published on the forum. I still had him send me key pictures this morning in case the sale fell through of which he promised that I was first back-up............not going to happen.
Anyway, if you want my fair opinion of the car now that I have seen the pictures of the stamp pad, casting numbers and dates and VIN let me know. I won't make comment on the board, so contact me via email if interested.
