    (Sultry Voice) Hellooow...My Name's Clemmy...

Are you ready to have some dirty Corvette fun, Big Boy?...Did you know that "beehive" valve springs first showed up on the LS1 Corvette engine in 1997?...Hmmmmm? Talk to me, Hotpants; I want to hear your voice! (ROFLMAO...You guys are killing me!)

But, Clemster, forget the $35 fixed fee thing; these venues charge by the minute.

Nah!...Nah! Nah! Nah! I have NEVER indulged, Scout's Honor. But, like topless clubs, they're a fool's errand. Clemster, it's not hard to imagine how they operate.

          Re: Encouraging NCRS Membership...

Chuck, thanks for stepping in as the online NCRS recruitment officer.

I have only been small part of the TDB for about 2 years, but I do enjoy my visits. During my time I have yet to ask a question, but I have answered about 13 or 14(even though my profile shows that I have ZERO responses???). I would be more active, but there are not that many posts concerning the year of Corvette I have knowledge of.

In one of your previous posts you stated that "old members" could get their membership numbers back, so with your "shameful bullying", I have sent an e-mail to see if this is possible. If so, then I will return to the NCRS, and no longer be classified as a "lurker", "leach", "cheapscape", or any other type of "freeloader".

            Hi Gene,

I'm not trying to set myself up as an NCRS recruitment officer, and I apologize for my "shameful bullying". Hey, I never said anyone was a "leach" or a "cheapskate"...I did say there were "free-loaders"; but it was with a smiley face.

It's not like NCRS is in a membership crisis anyway. For some of us, part of our problem is...we can't see why recruiting is even necessary; people interested in Corvettes should be eager to join. But, alas individual interests may vary slightly from what NCRS does best, feelings have gotten hurt over an incident, people see faults in the organization...the club is imperfect, but like our justice system, it's the very best of all the offerings.

My proposal above is a blatant marketing ploy, but I still think (in the context of the Board ruling), a free posting trial period and one year dues at a reduced internet rate would induce more people to start long term NCRS involvement.

My understanding is that Cincinnati will restore old membership numbers that were issued to the original member...I guess yours is down around 1500? (Yuk, Yuk ) In my opinion, you experienced guys are the ones we should want back.

I haven't figured out the profile post indicator, but it is based on an interval of time; it's like that credit card commercial with the princess kissing a frog...all your "kisses" expire after some time period, and it will then show zero posts if you haven't posted in a while.

              Chuck,

I hope you know I was pulling your leg. You and I seem to have the same dry sense of humor. I just got my number restored (21147), so I will call in tomorrow and give my 35 bucks. And, I will gladly mention that it is all your fault.
              take care, your friend gene

Whew...That's a relief! We "dry sense of humor" guys can never assume anything about our audience.

Congrats on getting your old handle back. Nice one...it'd be a shame to start over at about 50,000. (Yuk, Yuk ) Gene, if all of this bs this past week has accomplished nothing more than get you back "in the fold", it was all well worth it...now, get out there, get back in the groove, meet your old buds, and put your knowledge to work. I'll see you somewhere.
