Do the 64 radio and vent contols have some sort of backlighting? I just reinstalled everything and found no such lighting but it would make sence if it did. Any help is appreciated.
Those control bezels are illuminated by a "torpedo" lamp that clips into a slot in the clock receptacle at 6 o'clock; it only works if the clock is installed and connected, as it gets its ground from the upturned end of the clip touching the outside of the clock case.
My car is as close to an original as I ever hope to get and I have never seen a lamp like that. I have had my clock, glove box and dash out for about a month or so and I am now just reinstalling and I for sure didn't see that unit. Are you sure it's for a 64? Thanks so much for the picture.
