New engine, new STD wheels, new polished wheels, new key fob, 2 new colors, new 4LT package, new dual mode exhaust, just to name a few items. 08 is going to be a great model year for the Corvette !Tom Hendricks

no Z-51 they ride too hard for my old tender
behind. you only need that if you do track days or autocross and those day are way behind me. these new corvettes are a lot quicker than my reaction timesComment

Plus New T6060 Transmission...
No small matter. It appears the General is being responsive to customer complaints...I think the new transmission more important than the 30 extra horsepower.
The T56 was a very good heavy duty transmission, but some owners had trouble getting into first gear after stopping. As far as I know, all T56s have increased shifting effort when the fluid temperature is cold; it disapperars quickly, but the first few shifts in cooler weather are less than elegant. Some owners addressed this by changing to specialty fluids like Royal Purple.
Someone said the old T56 had phenolic/kevlar synchro rings; new T6060 has machined bronze just like the old fashioned trannys. Also some gears in the T56 had two synchro rings; the T6060 has three(?).Comment

things are upgrading at a faster rate than normal. GM used to dribble out little improvements every year to get you to move up and buy a new one. i think they are finding out this just pisses off customers so now they make lots of improvement at one time. JMHOComment
