Re: 1967 Bolt On Wheel Screwdriver
Until about the early to mid 1990's, Long Island Corvette Supply sold this screwdriver for $50.00 stating that it was made from the original tooling. It was identical to the illustration in Noland's book and the photo in this thread. That was mine that sold 3-4 years ago for a surprising $356.00. I sold some other '67 items about the same time for record prices. Things have definitely cooled since. Jim Weeks - Member #2978- Top

Re: 1967 Bolt On Wheel Screwdriver
I spent a lot of effort trying to run down a company that could make a duplicate of that Irwin wood-handled screwdriver when I was toying with reproducing it (I needed one, still do), and was unable to find any U.S. manufacturer that still makes them (talked to Irwin, and they don't even have the drawing in their archives, and aren't interested in the least). Finally found three outfits in China that said they could make exact duplicates for cheap (no doubt with lead-based red paint ), but they required a minimum order of several thousand pieces, and I wasn't that interested, and didn't pursue it any further.- Top
