1963 transmission ??????

my car 1963 corvette convertable #12921 built 4/15/63 currently has a muncie 4 speed . thinking of putting in the correct borg warner . is the 6 month time frame apply to trans. also ? i know these trans where RARE because of the ( 421 ) bellhousings with the 41/8" hole for the front retainer .where was the changeover to the stonger muncie trans ? THANKS

it is a '63 T-10, the tailhousing date looks like July of 63, but the picture isn't real clear.
