    master cylinder casting #

The NCRS judging manual states the casting number for a 72 vett with power breaks is 5480346. A company that has ben licened by GM to manufacture these cylinders says the correct number is 5460346. What is the correct number?
    Thanks for your help!

My belief is that the number is 5460346. I have checked this one out as best I could. I can't find any evidence that any part numbers in the "548" series were ever actually issued, although they were, apparently, assigned to Delco-Moraine.

It's often difficult to tell a '6' from an '8' on embossed cast numbers. Curiously, the 68-69 and 70-72 NCRS JG books which have been revised several times reference the '548' sequence while the 73-74 and 75-77 JG's that're newer with fewer revisons call out '546'...
