    C2-Question on 1966 L72 intake plenum designs

    On the 3885069 intake, in regards to the plenum, what is known about the difference between the ones with the "two holes" on the drivers side bank vs. the ones that have the web just between the holes removed. Are the ones with the web removed a modification, or was there a revision to the design at some point?

    I hope I am explaining this right. When looking down on the carburetor mounting surface, on the drivers side, some intakes have two large holes, and some have the webbing milled out between these holes. I had a guy tell me that it was a mid year '66 revision, but I have seen a few intakes with middle of the production year casting numbers with the webbing intact yet.

      The only non-L88 PRODUCTION application for that manifold was on the '66 L-72, and it used the 1st design configuration (3-hole, closed plenum, divider wall intact).

        Thanks for the reply. The piece that I have appears un-altered (otherwise), and the divider wall is intact, but the webbing between the two small holes has been milled out. It looks like old mill work done in a production fashion, which made me question if it was an owner modified unit, which now I suppose it is.
