The "Tub"(below windshield) where my 69 wipers park is coated with what looks like undercoat as a sealant. This has gotten old and is cracked and flaking off. what should I use to restore this area (reseal it)?

Re: Sealant for 69 Wiper park area
Use the archive search feature; there was a detailed thread about a month or two back.
I believe we concluded that roofing coating (in black) was similar to the original material in function and final appearance. If you have to buy a five gallon can, maybe you can buy some gallon cans, repackage, and resale the remainder gallons on ebay as "Corvette C3 Plenum and Wiper Compartment Sealant"...You should be able to make money on the deal.- Top

Use my name, and I'll expect a royalty check in the mail! I have a battalion of lawyers standing by to obtain justice for me! (HarHarHar!!!)
Yep, there is a dark force that abhors the gathering of lots of Corvette enthusiasts. It was legendary at Blommington, and this is the worst yet. I hope all our guys got out OK.
Disclaimer: I haven't tried this product, and can't guarantee that it will work as described or you expect. Any damage to your Corvette is not warranted, and in any case, this poster will not remember ever telling you a specific product to buy.- Top

Re: Sealant for 69 Wiper park area
Mark I am going to do my 70 soon, already have the wiper grille and door off. I am going to use mar-hyde brand No. 4211 rubberized under coating on it and on my 68 if I am pleased with the result. I have used this product for a few years on sealing the edge of my house's front rubber roof where it joins the the main part of the house. The original sealant in this area would develop cracks similiar to what has developed on my old Corvettes. I like the ease of use of the mar-hyde, it comes in a 18OZ spray can. It is sold at auto parts stores and my local Wal-Mart. The applications other than cars are use on gutters, downspouts, asphalt driveway cracks, minor roof repairs, and tree pruning.- Top
