I have seen turquoise to the blue side. I have seen it to the Green side and I have seen it down the middle. I only like it the way it looked on my 1960 when I bought it New. a little to the green side. I had ppg mix my Tasco Turquoise Met. Lacquer paint . So I have the right paint, I tested it on hidden parts that has never seen day light . It matched perfect. It's one of those paint that changes a lot according to the color of the primer. Now for the question. What was the color of the original primer? If you put 6 to 8 coats will the primer color make any difference?
What color is Turquise?

Re: What color is Turquise?
Andy,
I've got a lot of the same questions. I just stripped the Tasco Turquoise off of my '60 and I find that the primer is a tough, baked on, sort of redish brown, kind of a cinnamon color which I'm in the process of sanding off. This discussion board has put the fear into me about using more stripper to take off the primer off so I've bought stock in a sandpaper company. Boy, is that stuff tough to remove. I'm going right down to the fiberglass (there is no gelcoat) and starting over again from scratch. At this point I have no idea what I'm going to put back on for primer or for finish. I just know that I want to go with a good compatible primer and Tasco Turquoise lacquer finish. Was the PPG paint you mentioned a lacquer? Are you going to spray it on yourself or did you find someone you can trust to do a good job?
