My 68 convertable is getting better all the time new coils and front shocks are in, new leaf spring is almost in. I was going to send the trailing arms to VAN STEEL in florida. The arms themselves are rotted a little,so i was going to by new arms and have them rebuild the the rest including the struts. I was hoping to get some feed back about VAN STEEL. thanks dave f.

Re: C-3 trailing arms
I have used Van Steel for more than 27 years. I have had very good results with them and the quality of their wook is exceptional. I had the trailing arms on my 67 done back in 1980 and they have performen flawlessly since. (I drive it between 2000 to 4000 miles per year). I have probably put about 50 sets on cars over the years and have had no reported failures.- Top

Bair's is another good choice. They supply many of the major Corvette houses.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Dave-----
You can't go wrong with either Van Steel or Bairs. Also, I strongly support your decision to replace the trailing arms. If there is any "rotting" evident on the arms, you can almost bet that there's even more that can't be seen. It's absolutely foolish to try to salvage arms which have ANY evident rotting. These are components that you want to be absolutely solid. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C-3 trailing arms
Dave,
We are doing a rear suspension rebuild on a friend's '74 454, using t-arm assemblies from Van Steel.
My friend opted for an exchange using rebuilt t-arm assemblies. Turns out the axle flanges were not included w/ the rebuild, they had to be transfered (what a p.i.t.a.) from the old assemblies.
The same thing happened to another friend who did a t-arm exchange through Corvette Central.
p.s......Make sure the t-arms are drilled for a rear sway bar if you have a big block.
Just a little FYI.
Good luck,
Anthony- Top
