    65 Hardtop Repo.rear window weatherstrip

My reproduction weatherstrip for my 65 Hardtop is a little too long. 1-2 inches. Has anyone else had this problem?? I can perform a splice on the top under the center window bracket to take up the slack. I will need to glue the seams together. There is an O-ring repair kit at work used to sever and reglue o-rings to fit when too long or sections that are damaged. Need to find out what type of glue it is. Thanks DG

nothing works better to bond rubber weatherstrips than super glue. just keep it off yer fingers, especially if mother nature is calling. it bonds skin equally well.good seein ya at carlisle. mike

The glue is a cyanoacrylate , aka super glue.
There are a number on the market that use a spray accelerator which works great. With the accelerator you don,t get the fumeing, which is good.
Again, be careful as it will instantly bond just about anything.
