Re: 63 trans
Should be a T-10 in a car that early, also the '63 Muncie was a 1/2 year only trans with a different case and tailshaft from later years.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: 63 trans
Muncie has build date for the trans stamped on the side, T-10 has build date stamped and casting dates on main case and tailhousing.Bill Clupper #618- Top

First of all, let us know what maincase # is
Joe, in order for us to narrow down what Muncie you have, give us the part # (top row on the pass. side) For 1963 MY, it should be 3831704 (top line), with PAT. PEND. on second line. From an actual '63 Corvette trans, the VIN derivative stamped on the driver side rear edge is 3117522, and stamped on the rear bottom corner of the shifter cover flange is the assy date, P06 06.
For 1964 and 1965 Muncies, the maincase top # is 3851325, with early '64's having the Pat. Pend. and later '64 cases (and all others into the '70s) having US Patent No 3088336 on the 2nd line.
1966 and '67 cases will have top # 3885010.
So let's start there and see if we can help identify your Muncie.- Top

Thanks for you help-- the trans has the following numbers 3831707 & 3831704, then on the tail it reads 3831731, and by the side plate it reads PO122- Is there suppossed to be a vin number on the side of trans? and is it just a vin number or does it have other numbers? my vin is 30867S109...
