C2 Rear Strut Camber Adjusting Cams

What is the correct finish for the adjusting cams, bolts and nuts on the rear struts of my May/'64 convertible? Last week at Carlisle, I saw "original" cam assemblies that were cad plated, unfinished, rusty, painted black, etc..... I've also been told that one of the cams was plated and the other painted. Any truth to that?

    Thanks......

    Gary-----

    My opinion:

bolt------"black" phosphate (black phosphate varies from dark gray to almost black)

cam attached to bolt-----natural, unplated steel (could possibly have received some chassis blackout, I suppose)

separate cam (GM #3790331)---DULL cadmium or zinc plated
