I'm looking to have the differential rebuilt. Any advice on parts or other things to take a special look at. Just want to update/rebuild.

You can purchase rebuild kits which contain all of the parts normally needed for a rebuild. However, I strongly recommend that you have the unit rebuilt by a professional with the experience and tools to do it right. If you do, you will not need to be concerned about parts. They will know and have all of the parts that will be required. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C3 Differential
Bob,
I agree with Joe. I bought all the parts I needed to rebuild mine. Once I got the parts and started reading the instructions that came with the kit I realized there were tools I needed that cost more than paying someone to rebuild it for me. I sent mine to Randy's Ring and Pinion in Everett, WA. I found them on the internet- Reputable and reliable. They did a great job and the differential is quiet and so far works fine.

Re: C3 Differential
The 63-79 iron diff can be built several ways. Stock or with some mods to beef them up better. All rebuild kits are not the same and I would suggest you do some research before you commit.
I have walked several guys through the job if it's something you think you can do I'd be glad to help. I setup the posi differently then stock and they work great.
If you contact me I'll give you some links with more information for you.
