    Leaking Carb

Beautiful day today so I thought it would be a good day to take out my 67 coupe for a cruise. Didn't happen. At first I noticed that the RPM levels weren't stabilizing at about 950 where they usually do. The car was running rough and about 650-700RPM. I checked out the engine compartment (stock 435HP) and noticed a a pool of gas at the base of the manifold on both sides. There manifold was wet with gas between the 1st and second carbs (counting from the front of the car). I noticed some gas dripping from the accel pump at the base of the center carb. All floats were adjusted fine. Depression of the accel. pump injected gas as it should in both barrels of the carb.

Guys, Any ideas (short of completely rebuilding the thing again - just re-built it 3 years ago) as to next steps? What would cause this suddenly (well, the last time I took the car out was two weeks ago - it ran fine)?

Ah the problems with owning a survivor type car.......

Check to be sure the screws that hold the fuel bowl to the main body have not come loose. It is a fairly frequent occurrence on my car. Just a little turn usually solves the problem for me. I always thought that the different expansion rates between the bolts and carb body causes them to eventually become loose.
